Complete dentures consist of a base on which teeth are placed. The base is made of pink acrylate, which blends in with the color of the mucous membrane and thus supports the entire aesthetic work. The purpose of the base is to distribute the chewing forces that occur when chewing on the mucosa and bone base. As the mucosa itself cannot withstand heavy loads, it is important that the base be as wide as possible so that the masticatory forces are distributed over as large an area as possible, thus achieving a safer and more pleasant bite. The upper base covers the entire palate, and the lower base has the shape of a horseshoe, leaving free space for the tongue. The complete prosthesis should be removed and washed and disinfected at least once a day with appropriate means, and it is recommended to wash it after every meal and before bed.

Born in 1985, Pırıl Türkan Sindel graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry in 2009, and started her specialization and doctorate education at Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Prosthetic Dentistry in the same year, and completed her education in 2014. In addition to various private clinics, she worked at Antalya Oral and Dental Health Hospital for 6 years. Since August 2022, she has been working as a manager at the ARD clinic, of which she is a partner.

Alican Tezerişener was born in Bursa in 1990.
