Gingivitis (inflammation of the soft tissue) and periodontitis (inflammation of the supporting structures of the teeth) are caused by bacteria, so the goal of therapy is to minimize their number. This procedure is done with hand instruments, the so-called curettes and machine, sound and ultrasonic instruments. Depending on the progression of the disease, therapy is carried out in several visits. Deposits are removed above ("surface cleansing") and below the gingiva ("deep cleansing"). The procedure is extremely painless because mechanical therapy under the gingiva is performed under local anesthesia.

Dr. Dt. Aytaç GÜRSEL graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry in 2010. In 2011, he served as a PhD student in the Department of Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Diseases and Surgery at Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry, in various polyclinics in Ankara and Bursa and within the university. He received the 1st prize for his poster presentation titled “Finite Element Analysis Of The Internal Fixation Of Mandibular Fractures” at the 2017 Digital Transformation in Dentistry Congress. In 2019, he founded the Private Neta Oral and Dental Health Polyclinic in Nilüfer district of Bursa and is still actively providing services.

Born in Mersin in 1993, Beste IŞIL GÜRSEL graduated from İçel Anatolian High School in 2011 and started her education at Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry. She completed her master's degree in 2016 and successfully passed the Dentistry Specialization Exam (DUS) in the same year and started her specialist training at Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Prosthetic Dentistry. During his specialist training, he contributed to many scientific studies, presented posters at various congresses, and presented seminars on 'Current Soft Lining Applications' and 'Zirconia Implants' within the faculty. In 2020, he completed his thesis titled 'Evaluation of Hybrid Prostheses with Different Anterior Cantilever Lengths Placed on Different Designed Implants in Atrophic Maxilla with Finite Element Stress Analysis' and graduated from the faculty as a specialist doctor. Beste Işıl Gürsel, who started working at Private Neta Oral and Dental Health Polyclinic in 2021, is a member of ITI (International Team for Implantology) and still actively participates in various international congresses and trainings, follows the most up-to-date treatment protocols and applies them in her treatments.
